Bournemouth University Alumni Meet in Lithuania

2009 / 08 / 23

Summer Media School attracts many young filmmakers from the entire Europe. The two week workshop took place in Karvys ranch, a beautiful country-side farmland near Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, June 21st through July 6.

Scriptwriters, producers, sound designers, cameramen and directors came to Vilnius to create documentaries about Lithuania. Vilnius is the cultural capital of Europe in 2009, this is one of the reasons this annual workshop was moved from Juodkrante to Vilnius.

Titas was responsible for supervising the sound of the workshop films. The crews happened to be friendly and productive, the process of post-production was intense as usual, but productive.

It was a nice coincidence, Davide Mastropaolo, a Bournemouth Screen Academy student came to this workshop as well. Davide is finishing film composing Master program in Bournemouth and decided to explore film making environment in Lithuania. He participated in the workshop as a sound designer, but his composing skills were of great demand as well.

"Davide is a friendly soul - true Italian, moreover - Napoleatano! It was a great time to chat about Bournemouth school times, to see what has changed over the few years when I finished it" - says Titas.

Davide fell in love with Lithuania. He applied to another program and came back on a film making project organized together with the program of the Cultural Capital of Europe. Davide will be a part of the Italian team, who together with other film makers from Europe will make a joint production.
