Documentary about the President of Lithuania "Algirdas Brazauskas - Testimonies" premiered in Lithuanian National TV

Documentary Algirdas Brazauskas - Testimonies is a new film by Ramune Sakalauskaite and Edita Mildazyte about Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas, who was the first President of the independent Lithuania after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The film reveals new facts about the Lithuanian contemporary politics, which are illustrated with original private footage received from the President Brazauskas
as well as archives from Lithuanian Film Studio and Lithuanian National Television.

The story starts with President’s conversation about his parents, childhood, university times at the Kaunas Institute of Politechnics, his first assignments in the construction industry and the beginning of the career in politics.
The filmmakers were successful to capture sensitive moments as the President tells his story and experience of the dramatic moments not only in his life but also the history of Lithuania.

The Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski (1995-2005), Finish leader Marttii Ahtisaari (1994-2000), US President's Adviser to National Security Zbigniew Brzezinski (1977-1981) share their memories and impressions of working with the Lithuanian President Algirdas Brazauskas.

The premiere on the Lithuanian National Television is at 6PM on March 11, 2010.
