Seven Sins - Documentary About Modernity and Virtues (directed by Kristina Inčiūraitė)

2010 / 02 / 13

Seven sport women who live in seven different Lithuanian cities share their attitude towards the 'seven deadly sins' (Sloth, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Lust, Envy, and Greed). In the context of the current socio-economic crisis, this documentary was inspired by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's The Seven Deadly Sins (1933), ballet chanté, a ballet with singing. The piece (in the German it is called “Die Sieben Todsünden”) portrays two sisters (the representation of duality in personality) who travel to seven different cities during Great Depression to search for their happiness.
