Seventeen Years of Silver Cranes: A Tribute to Cinema and Its Guardians
2025 / 06 / 09
Silver Crane Awards 2025. During this special occasion, I had the honour of pausing for a moment and capturing a photo with the remarkable Dr. Gražina Arlickaitė – this year’s Golden Crane laureate. I deeply admire her insight and erudition; her speech reflecting on the journey of the Silver Crane Awards was not only thorough, but also filled with deep respect for Lithuanian cinema and its creators.
It’s hard to believe that seventeen years have passed since the very first Silver Cranes in 2008. Back then, our team from the film The Collectress celebrated with youthful energy and several nominations – including for sound and music.
Ms. Gražina’s lifelong dedication continues to inspire a commitment to the path of European cinema – one that dares to ask uncomfortable questions while embracing love, intellect, tolerance, and human empathy.
Cinema is more than storytelling. It is our mirror. It nurtures, teaches, challenges, and empowers us to make bold decisions.
Grateful to Vilma Petrikienė for a heartfelt evening of connection.
